KEYNOTE: COLONEL DAN “ANIMAL” JAVORSEK

E4 is thrilled to welcome Colonel Dan “Animal” Javorsek, PhD, USAF (Retired), Chief Technology Officer at EpiSys Science, Inc. to our “Soar to Success” conference. A decorated Command Fighter and Test Pilot until his recent retirement from the US Air Force, he headed up the initiative to integrate Artificial Intelligence into the combat cockpit at DARPA.

In a lively presentation “Tools to Teammates: Cognitive Augmentation in the 21st Century”, Col. Javorsek will outline what is happening in the real world of advanced AI.  The US Military has been at the forefront of integrating Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Augmented Reality, and Automation into their field operations. Through long experience, they have learned that when introduced poorly and without trust, the potential transformational benefits result in costly obstacles to implementation because emerging technologies represent a perceived threat to the human virtues of value, heritage, honor, and dignity. These battle-tested lessons apply equally to practitioners in the financial services space where high stakes outcomes are tested every day with every client. Col. Javorsek shares stories and lessons learned from his experience as a combat pilot and lead AI researcher at DARPA.
