What happens in Washington, DC, has a critical impact on our business, yet, out of 535 members in the U.S. Congress, only 20 (less than 4%) have any experience with insurance. In October 2023, the DOL released its third fiduciary rule proposal, that imposes a broad new regulatory framework on retirement-related financial assistance, targeting annuities and with inaccurate and misleading claims about “junk fees.”
